This month the Haddam Garden Club will be taking a private field trip to the Bellamy-Ferriday House and Garden in Bethlehem, Ct. The 1915 formal garden and the historic house (built in 1754) will be included on the tour. Several times a year we take field trips to see beautiful gardens and museums. We have so much in our area that we tend not to seek out of our own volition.
In our own back yard, it isn’t too late to plant or move perennials. It’s a pretty ideal time. It’s cooler, generally rainier and the sun isn’t as strong. It is also still a good time to patch or even renovate your lawn.
The Garden Club won’t be having any programs or trips until after the first of the year. November is our annual meeting and December is our meeting to make holiday decorations to adorn town buildings.
Meanwhile, go outside and do anything while the weather is still good.
